One of the things I would really like to see is moders having the ability to make databases as small or as large as they want. It would be nice to be able to make a database of 100 directors or producers instead of 600. As it is now there are many directors and producers that never get jobs because there are simple too many of them.

From what I surmise, in the even there is an HM4, there will be a need for as many directors as possible.
What I'd like to see, in regards to producers, is depending on the budget, the necessity to hire multiple producers (i.e. if the production budget is $250M, you need to hire 4 producers or something like that).
Also, while I'm typing, maybe a random thing that if a certain director is hired, a note will pop-up that an actor would like to sign on to work with that director (and vice-versa).

I would love to be able to produce an original movie and its sequels at the same time, just like Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Or at least write the script for the sequels. It takes too long to release a movie, then write the script for its sequel, produce the sequel and then release it... sometimes it's 4-5 year difference from the original movie to the first sequel. I'm happy that you're doing a new game, I'm really excited! Keep up the good work!! There used to be the ability to make movies back to back to back but IIRC was removed due to coding headaches. But I second the idea of perhaps being able to begin writing for the sequel while the first one is in production, maybe a way to alleviate any headaches is it can't go into production until the first has wrapped and ready for release.

Well ... if we include TV in the game ... then we have to go to Weekly Game Turns.
Everyone agree?
Anyone hate the idea?

A few thoughts that could be implemented:
When playing multiple studios for the first time, there aren't enough sound stages. I'm wondering if either that number can increase or maybe each studio gets their own set.
Hopefully there'll be an adjustment with the box office when it pertains to China. They're now a major player; just look at Resident Evil: The Final Chapter where it had something like a $95M opening weekend there (it won't even reach half that number, current domestic total is $26M).
Last, what about custom locations and multipliers. I know currently you can add whatever city you want, but I'm thinking of not only being able to add one, but assign your own multiplier, maybe limiting it to like 0.4x or something. This would then be a sort of future proof to combat trends (right now New Orleans is hot, but 10 years from now, it could be Jacksonville, Portland, or Dallas, etc). There would be a default set but if users want, they can make the adjustments.

Weekly turns is the only way to make TV works, I do agree with it. But how it will affect the movie mechanism?
And also since in the screenshot you show various side of the industry (Theme Parks & Gaming) is it possible that if in some game I want to focus on Moviemaking &TV I can just don't operate the other business or license my company into a third party with percentage?
Licensing could be very important if you want to turn this into more business app because micromanaging can be painful for some of the gamer while some would definitely love it.

I always thought that month long turns were a bit odd though I understand the reason behind them. I'm all for weekly turns.

I would love it if the skill/quality ratings weren't so visible. I'd prefer something like "People say she's a decent writer and she likes to write horror films most. Her previous films include XYZ and YZX." I would keep the mechanics a little more disguised and allows the player to live the world of the game more. If you were to do it that way, you might even keep some info from the player, like someone being a troublemaker or an undiscovered genius. Revealing new info could be an event.

Simplifying the ability to create franchises would be cool. Especially since nowadays every single studio wants to create their own cinematic universe. I also think i'd be fun to add optional movie posters. The player would be able to add an image from his computer to represent the movie, or simply ignore the feature. I just think It'd help the immersion.
