I would love it if the skill/quality ratings weren't so visible. I'd prefer something like "People say she's a decent writer and she likes to write horror films most. Her previous films include XYZ and YZX." I would keep the mechanics a little more disguised and allows the player to live the world of the game more. If you were to do it that way, you might even keep some info from the player, like someone being a troublemaker or an undiscovered genius. Revealing new info could be an event. I like this idea. Maybe the feature can be turned on/off depend on the preference just like Football Manager can turn on/off the masking of attributes.

How about the ability to buy another studio if you have enough cash, and when one is purchased a new small studio generates? You acquire their entire libraries once you buy them, and can make sequels to their movies, or they could become a subsidiary. This is something I always quite liked about games like Extreme Warfare Revenge and Capitalism 2.

How about adding native 3D and post-conversion 3D?

I don't know if this is do-able, but here are some ideas.
1. Choose your composer - I'd like to be able to have composers be selectable. This way, I can have 'John Wilson' compose all my star wars movies instead of just some random dude each time.
2. Rotatable cast lists. Going with the Star Wars theme, I'd like to have my cast of characters switchable, for instance, lets say I want to remake the star wars movies and have Anakin as the main character, or the buddy character, but then for that inevitable film, want him to be the villain, Instead of just recasting, just click, hold, and move the required role to the proper spot and have that role become the villain. Did I make sense of that?

I would like there to be an added source section for guaranteed box office smashers for Iconic franchise Phenomenon's such as Star Wars, Terminator and the major comic book heroes, Batman, Superman and Spider Man.
These would be super expensive to buy but once you get them you get guaranteed box office hits.
All my Batman films massively flop as I rely on the source material and probably spend a bit too much on advertsing and don't cast big enough stars.

I think it'd be great to have the ability to re-release movies that were already released in theaters. That way, say, for the 20th aniversary of 'BIG TRUCK LOVING', I can release it back into theaters.

Stay With 1 Turn = 1 MonthSome players have asked me about changing the game turn to 1 week. I just don't think it works. It's just too ... much. EDIT: Well.... if we include TV then we have to go to weekly game turns. Damn. I don't know that you have to make it weekly turns for TV. Maybe it's like this. JANUARY - You buy the show from a pitch, existing script, whatever it is. You might demand a rewrite. FEBRUARY - You get the revised script back, you order the pilot. MARCH - You cast the show (maybe you did this in February). APRIL - The pilot comes back, you can look at the test screenings. Maybe there's an option to put it on early to gauge interest, as some networks do. MAY - You pick up the pilot, and order additional episodes to be written. You approve budget, and set the launch date/scheduling of the show. JUNE - You get some of the scripts in (you get two/three a month, perhaps), and you review it as you would with the films. You demand rewrites or you shoot it. JULY - Production begins. AUGUST - First two/three episodes come in, and you test screen as you would a movie. SEPTEMBER - Show airs. You get ratings/reviews for all episodes aired during that period at the END of the turn, like the movie side. And so on and so forth. It works the same as the movie side -- you just get all your ratings for each show at once.

Would there be a way of playing more as an individual than as a company? I know in the proposal there's an option to either be the CEO or the owner...
What if, as a CEO, we start by running any of the existing companies. However if we perform well or poorly, our contract with the studio could be terminated or we could be offered larger salaries/points to stay.
Say I join a studio and produce ten hits, some of which are award winners too, then I could receive offers from other productions companies trying to poach me, and I could enter negotiations (similar to casting in some ways, yet we are proposing our salary and points).
There could be certain clauses in our contract to make things.more challenging, such as :bring in a new revenue of 500m in the next five years, or the contract won't be renewed.'
This way, we can save up our salary and eventually launch our own studio. Or, if our reputation is so bad that no one will hire us after a string of flops, taking a loan and investing our life savings may be the last option.
I know this will require creating a bit more of a user identity and now sure how that'll fit in with the coding. It's also be cool to be limited to an age - perhaps going up every three years - so it's almost like a challenge mode. How much can we achieve after arriving in the industry at 21 until we die?
This could be an optional game mode? Not sure how itd work in reality... I just like the idea of not being bound to a company and being more of an individual.

That's a really good idea, Joe. It's very similar to how EWR is structured. In that game you run a wrestling promotion for a minimum of two years. In that time you create loyalty in the industry among other staff members and wrestlers, and when your 2 years is up you can form your own promotion.
